DIARY:   Ruminations, Occasional thoughts & happenings - as they arise

Wolves!   20 November 2007

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people.

"My son, " He said, "The battle is between two 'Wolves' inside each of us.
 
    One is Evil.  It is false pride, ego and lies, anger, greed, arrogance, envy,  inferiority, lust, jealousy, resentment, self-pity, guilt and despair.

    The other is Good.  It is love, joy, peace,  serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,  empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, hope and faith."

The grandson thought for a minute and then asked: "Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."
